Chairperson of the conservancy, Kristin Kallesen said the Greater Kyalami Conservancy could not function without the support of its members.
“Landowners within the conservancy as well as supporters are encouraged to show support by registering as members of the conservancy,” she said. “It is vital that the Greater Kyalami Conservancy has an updated list of properties that are members of the conservancy who support the preservation of the open space and natural areas in the greater Kyalami area.”
She said the pressure of development in the area was increasing and said it was “time to present a united front”.
Kallesen added that the conservancy worked with the area’s residents association, but membership of the conservancy was separate to that of the residents association. Membership of the conservancy is free, however if members wish to vote in the annual general meeting, they will have to pay a fee of R200. The next annual general meeting will be held in 2015.
