GEKCO speaks out on Riversands development- 28 May 2013
The Greater Kyalami Conservancy (Gekco) writes about the public participation process for Riversands development.
Century Properties have announced a public participation process in which they intend to apply for an amendment to the spatial development framework for Region A to give rights for a light industrial zone. Urban Dynamics have been appointed as the consultants to facilitate the process.
This project is purported to provide much needed employment to the residents of nearby Diepsloot, however no proper study has been presented to show that the development of such an industrial development node will in fact create jobs, other than during the construction phase.
