R55 Upgrade
Environmental Authorisation was granted for the upgrades to the R55 (P66-1) road between Crowthorne and Blue Hills. This will allow construction of a dual lane road through from Main road to Summit road subject to funds being available. Current access onto the road will change with this upgrade – please consult the dropbox link below for the alignment and plans.
GEKCO appealed this decision, requesting that a study is done on the African Grass Owls as a specialist has confirmed their presence in the area. GEKCO is requesting that the approval is contingent on this study as upgrades or access on Karee road may have an impact and this should be considered in the report.
